27 July – IIIF Conference Feedback Event

Recently several colleagues from Edinburgh University Library and National Library of Scotland attended the IIIF Annual Conference in The Vatican. The conference showcased new tools and use cases for working with digital images, using the IIIF standard http://iiif.io.

From 1500-1630 on 27 July, in Room 1.07 in Edinburgh University Library, we will be holding an informal feedback session where those of us who attended the conference will each highlight one or two IIIF projects that impressed us. We will also give an update on IIIF implementation progress at both organisations.

The session will be non-technical and will start with a quick introduction into the benefits of working with digital images that are IIIF compliant.

Places are limited so please sign-up on the Google Doc.

Those providing feedback will include:
Gill Hamilton, Digital Access Manager, National Library of Scotland
Claire Knowles, Library Digital Development Manager, University of Edinburgh
Joe Marshall, Head of Special Collections, University of Edinburgh
Erin Nolan, Translation and Transcription Intern, University of Edinburgh
Dr John Scally, National Librarian, National Library of Scotland [tbc]
